For New Years Eve, Cason and I went to a friends place in Sandy. There were about 15 or 20 of us there so it was more of a chill night, rather than being at a club like everyone else was! We had a ton of fun with friends that night and I am so glad that it is a new year! 2010 is going to be a great year!

We had such a great Christmas this year. Case and I were able to spend Christmas with both of our families; even though one is in St. George and the other in Highland. We drove down to St. George Wednesday night to spend all of Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with Cason's family. Then, we drove back Christmas morning to spend the rest of the day with my family. Here are a couple pictures from the past few days.

A Big Congrats to My Girls!!

Cason and I drove to Primm, NV yesterday morning to go watch my trainer Tandi and my girl Melanie fight. It was quite the drive from Salt Lake, but worth it! Both fights were Muay Thai. Tandi and Melanie both fought hard with perfect form throughout the fight and won.

I didn't take too many pictures of the girls because I was way too into their fights to take pictures. But, there was a professional photographer there that I will be able to get some better pictures from.

I didn't take pictures of Thanksgiving, but this is one that Gina took of us all listening to Jeremy's great stories! He had us laughing the whole time. We spent Thanksgiving down in St. George with Cason's side of the family and had a great time down there.

One Awesome Weekend!

This past weekend was so much fun! Thursday night there were the weigh ins for the Throwdown Showdown V fights that were on Friday night. My trainer Tandi was fighting in the Showdown fights so I went to the weigh ins to support her. She looked amazing! You can tell by the picture that she is pretty ripped! After weigh ins were over we all went out to dinner at Sushi Ya. Friday night Cason and I went to watch the Throwdown fights in Orem. Some of them were pretty intense. Tandi destroyed the other girl. They had to stop the fight in the 3rd round! Saturday I went and saw New Moon with my little sisters and Cason. He is such an amazing boyfriend to sit in a movie theater filled with all girls to go see New Moon with me! That night we went up to Salt Lake to the Kalai concert. Kalai always puts on a great show. We definintely had a busy weekend, but also had a lot fun!

Case and I spent the weekend in St. George for Spencer and Cassie's wedding. It was such a perfect day for the two of them to get married. We are so happy for them!

Costa Rica ~ Pura Vida!

Cason and I just got back from an 11 day trip to Costa Rica. It was amazing! We traveled around the country and got to experience so much while we were there. There were so many pictures to choose from that it was so hard to choose which ones to put on here. At the end are a few videos that we took while we were in Costa Rica as well.

At the Baldi Hot Springs in La Fortuna. These hot springs run off from the Arenal volcano which is still active.

This little guy is called a Coati. He is related to the raccoon. When we first saw him I thought he looked pretty vicious cause he reminded me of a badger, but we found out that these little guys are not mean.

Above the Tarcoles bridge. There are a bunch of huge crocodiles under the bridge that you can look at. There were cops standing at each end of the bridge so that people wouldn't go down to them. I have no idea who would even want to do that! These things were 10+ feet long!

I had to put this picture up. I think it is funny that they have a caution sign that warns you about children, dogs, sloths, and monkeys. I wish we had that problem here.

A 3-toed sloth way up in the trees. We ended up seeing about 10 or more sloths by the end of our trip.

Our view from the Hotel in Hermosa. I loved staying here cause it was right on the beach, too bad we only stayed in each place for a night or two before we moved on to the next city.

We got to go out one night with a group that looks for turtle tracks and finds female turtles that are laying eggs on the beach. They then take the eggs to a reserve and help to hatch the eggs so that more baby turtles have a chance to survive. This is a picture of a female turtle in the middle of laying her eggs.

This sloth is one of four that was brought to a park in Orotina about 10 years ago and it has stayed there. This one was so close to us!

The 2-toed sloths are not quite as cute as the 3-toed sloths, but there is still something cute about them.

Near the end of our trip we ended up having some spare time so we went to a little city called Sarchi. They are well known for their painted ox carts. This one was in the center of their city. It was huge and so beautiful!

On the zip line. One of our guides had my camera and took this video for us. In the video you can see the Arenal Volcano and the lake.

There was a really bad storm that came through while we were eating dinner at the Taco Bar in Jaco. This video is of the street that was next to us. You can see how deep the water was; it goes up to the bumper of the cars and when the cars are driving it is creating waves! That storm was crazy!

Cason just doing what he does best; trying to bug the animals. He didn't think that the iguana was going to try and whip him with his tail!

You have to watch this video all the way through. These monkeys were so darn cute. At first it is playing with Cason and then I got him to come over and hold my hand. His little fingers were adorable!

One of the workers at the La Paz Waterfall Gardens let Cason feed the monkeys some mealworms. They loved those little worms!

This videos is one of my favorites. He is a little kinkajou and made such a funny noise when we would feed him leaves. When he would run back to his house, Cason made a noise to mimic his and he came running back out. It was hilarious. Such a strange little animal!

This last video is of the baby anteater that we got to hold. He was so cute! He kept trying to put his long nose in our ears while we were holding him.

This was by far one of the best trips we had ever been on and we can't wait to go on our next one! It was good to come home but sad to leave such a relaxed lifestyle that they had down in Costa Rica. We will miss it for sure.

Cason's 26th Bday!

Cason had his 26th birthday this past Monday. He is the type that is tough to shop for because he can go out and buy whatever he wants to. So I decided to do something a little different and take him paragliding. This was quite the stressful planning for me though because the wind has to be just right to go. You can not just set up a time and then go paragliding, you have to make sure the wind agrees! So even though we did not go until a day after his birthday, it was still alot of fun and a huge surprise to him (I was very proud that I was able to keep it from him as long as I did and with as many people that knew what I was doing for his birthday!). Here are some pictures from this past week.

Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone, but i figured if my parents thought it was funny then I am pretty safe to show it on my blog :) This is the cake I made Cason for his birthday. We went out to dinner with his close friends and I gave it to our waitress to bring out to him at the end. He knew I made him a cake, but he had no idea what it was! Everyone got a good laugh about it!

Update!

So the last time I wrote on here I had not had any tests done to try and figure out why I kept getting these horrible migraines. It has now been almost 3 weeks since my last migraine! I went in about 2 weeks ago and had an MRI done (by the way those things are scary! So loud and you have no idea what is going on!). The results came back negative for any sort of brain tumor or aneurysm. Good News! About a week later I went back in to have a bubble study done on my heart. They were checking to see if there was a hole in my heart. That also came back negative. Once again, good news! Now the only problem is that we still do not know what was causing the migraines. I am on a daily medication that is suppose to help prevent them from coming back and so far it is working. Cason and I leave to Costa Rica next Thursday so I am praying that everything keeps going well!

What's been going on lately...

So the past few weeks have been rough. I haven't really talked about this to too many people becuase it is sort of hard to explain, so I figured I would just type it up once and then people can read it. So over the past 10 years I have had 7 migraine headaches, 5 which were severe enough to put me in the emergency room. 4 of these happened in the past 2 weeks. These migrane headaches will start will either a vision blur, spot, or part of my arm and face will go numb. The symptoms are closely related to those of a stroke. After the vision/numbness occurs, the headache starts. These headaches are pounding behind my eyes and I get extremely nauseous. Then I start throwing up violently. The main reason I have had to go to the ER is because I am not able to keep any medication down. So, the only thing that works is to have an IV put in my arm with medication. I have been to my doctors office 3 times in the past 2 weeks trying to figure this out but all they can do for now is put me on a lot of different medications to try and prevent the migraines from coming on, and more medication to stop the migraine once it has started. I finally was able to meet with a neurologist yesterday (it was a miracle we found one that had a cancellation!) There are a few things he mentioned could be happening. Starting tomorrow we are going to run some tests. I will be having a MRI done to check for any tumors in my head and to make sure all my vessels are alright. If that all comes back negative, then they will be checking for a hole in my heart. If that also comes back negative, they do not know where they will go from there. We are all hoping that everything comes back negative and the neurologist just says he is not sure why they are happening and all we can do is try to prevent them from happening. This has definitely been a scary few weeks but I am relieved to stat getting some answers. I will keep you all updated on the results. Wish me luck!

For Labor Day weekend, Cason and I wanted to head up to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. I invited my two best girl friends to come along. I really do have The Most Amazing boyfriend to not only put up with me all weekend long, but also my 2 girls! My Dad, Cason, and I hiked Timp Mtn. yesterday. It was a lot tougher of a hike than Cason and I thought it was going to be. We hiked 16.5 miles, an altitude increase of 4,500 feet, and took us about 9 hours to do. Walking today is quite a task! We are all pretty sore!
